An introduction to linear algebra from the pure math perspective. Finite-Dimensional Vector Spaces. Paul R. Halmos The book ends with a few applications to analysis (Halmos’s true interest in the subject). Finite Dimensional Vector Spaces combines algebra and geometry to discuss the three-dimensional area where vectors can be plotted. The book broke ground.

Dieudonne No preview available – The book contains about well placed and instructive problems, which cover a considerable part of the subject. Jeffry rated it it was amazing Jun 30, In fact, the entire book uses an old style typeset that has very limited capability for highlighting key ideas or diagramming concepts, and provides minimal aid for the more visual learners.
Finite Dimensional Vector Spaces combines dimenisonal and geometry to discuss the three-dimensional area where vectors can be plotted. It has a heavy emphasis on doing things in the most rigorous, “proper” way possible, written for the purest mathematicians at heart. Finite Dimensional Vector Spaces. Even if the reader prefers more recent books, I would highly recommend to use this as a supplement. Foundations of Modern Analysis, Volume 1 J.
This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Tres bon livre mais il manque des infos sur les polynomes d’endomorphismes, ce qui est dommage.
